on the setAs the director of the lesson plans, guide your students to be learning stars!  Hands-on activities make Universal Studios Hollywood educational, exciting and meaningful.  Our lesson plans have defined objectives and are specifically created to enhance your instruction.  While supporting the California State Standards and California Technical Education Standards, they also address other state’s standards.  In the director’s seat you have the power to select a single plan or a combination of lesson plans to engage your students based on their needs and interests.  The lesson plans are your script and have been written on an “Into,” “Through,” and “Beyond” format, a system designed to maximize students’ Universal Studios experience:

Into: In-class work preps students for their visit to Universal Studios Hollywood.
Through: The visit to Universal Studios Hollywood immersed them in a full-sensory experience.
Beyond:  Follow-up work back in the classroom reinforces the lessons learned.

Admission: Includes full day park admission (one complimentary adult chaperone ticket per every 10 paid students.
Availability: Seven days a week, Year-round.

Time: General park hours.
Tickets: Reservations and advance payment are required. Tickets will be mailed to your school.
Grades: 4 through 12.
Minimum: 10 students per school (one adult chaperone required per every 10 students).
Maximum: There is no maximum number of students per school.
Restrictions: Annual Passes are not valid for admission to this program.

Lessons are provided as a supplement to any of our paid educational programs, and can be downloaded here at no additional cost.  Lessons are appropriate for grades 4 through 12 and are available seven days a week, Year-round.

Facts and Information Investigation Grades 4 - 8

Students identify facts, take notes, and research information through written, visual, and supplemental materials available at Universal Studios Hollywood. Appropriate for English learners.

Jurassic Feast Grades 4 - 8
Life Science and Biology                                                                                             
Students identify and classify living and extinct animals into categories designated as plant-eating and meat-eating creatures. Students will use information sources found in libraries, textbooks, and in attractions at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Earth Science, Language Arts, and Special Education                                                                    
Students will explain and demonstrate how geography influences the political, social and economic growth of a region or community. Approptiate for Special Education.

Historical Events Grades 6 - 8
History and Social Science                                                                         
Students study and research historical events through the illustrations and text designed on storyboards.

Scavenger Word Hunt Grades 6 - 8
Language Arts and English Learners                                                                     
Students use various skills (observation, research, and investigation) to define a list of vocabulary words. Students will discover meanings of words through context clues, discussion, and hands-on experience. Appropriate for English learners.

What We Hear Affects What We See  - The Use of Sound Effects Grades 6 - 8
Language Arts and English Learners     
Students observe, research, create and apply information on the use of sound effects to enhance filmmaking. Appropriate for English learners.

Careers in the Entertainment Industry – Building A Resume Grades 8 - 12
Language Arts and Life Skills
Student research and prepare a mock resume for a career in the entertainment industry.

Presentation and Production Grades 8 - 12
Language Arts
Visual and oral productions for a variety of audiences; utilizing well organized types of writing, appropriate leboration and commentary, and accurate supporting evidence derived from a variety of sources.

Technology & Science: Observing and Analyzing Images We See & Experience Grades 8 - 12
Technology & Physical Science
Students will be able to explain physical concepts such as force, motion, and energy transformations. Students create scientific questions, and distinguish between fact and opinion when analyzing explanations of natural phenomena.

Advertising Promotional Kit – Creative Packaging Grades 9 - 12
Language Arts
Students use critical and creative thinking skills to research and develop an advertising promotional kit.
